6. Upgrade or downgrade AnyDVD. Sometimes installing latest AnyDVD version will fix your problem. But if AnyDVD works fine but fails to read DVD after you perform upgrading, go back to the old version.
With MakeMKV, you'll be able to convert your DVD collections to MKV for free. But it may not rip DVDs with the latest copy restrictions protected. Due to the characteristic of format and encoding, it may take you a lot of time to finish the whole process. Also, the output video size is a bit larger.
DVD Shrink is another anydvd HD alternative freeware which acts as a DVD copy to back up DVD discs and save as DVD folder or ISO image file to hard drive. As its name implies, this free DVD ripping software can also compress or shrink the DVD data. In addition, you are allowed to rip copy-protected commercial DVD titles with the built-in decryption algorithms.
Although DVD Decrypter is no longer updated, it is still one of the most popular free AnyDVD HD alternatives for DVD rip. It's mostly like DVD Shrink, which can also rip DVD to VOB or ISO image. As the technology of copy protection develops, DVD Decrypter may not deal with the latest DVDs with new copy restrictions.
As we know, AnyDVD free alternatives always have various limitations and may not well support Windows 10/11, such as cannot handle commercial protected DVD, ripping speed is too slow, output file is large with low quality, only support a single format, etc. So here comes the best AnyDVD alternative, WonderFox DVD Ripper Pro which is designed for ripping any DVD (even the latest copy-protected or region-locked DVDs) to a wide range of video audio formats and portable devices. Check out the simple guide below.
Here you can get latest smart solutions on how to rip and backup DVDs and download media sources from the internet with ease following the guides. Get rid of device and video/audio file incompatibility. It's really a breeze!
If you have the latest version of AnyDVD HD installed and the problem persists, select it as the default program to be used to manage ANYDVD on your device. The next step should pose no problems. The procedure is straightforward and largely system-independent
Slysoft products have always worked well on all my computers. I have all of them except Game Jackal. Luckily I purchased free lifetime upgrades with all of them and they were much cheaper back then. Unfortunately for over a week now I've been unable to get updates or even any download because their website has been shut down with no notices of why. All I can think is that they were shut down by government for some illegal business practices. So if you don't have a copy of their latest software and already paid for it you're basically screwed. Hold onto any install copies you have because they can't be replaced
I've been using this for years. To paraphrase a popular UK advert "It does what it says on the tin". Virtually transparent to the end user. Frequent free up grades always seem to overcome the latest copy protection schemes. TRULY EXCELLENT.
@Feng Tao "Anyway, speaking of DVDFab, no doubt they will reverse engineer the latest release from Slysoft, and release their pretend update in due course."You are quite right buddy they have just released DVDFab 8.1.5.2 Qt Beta, which will no doubt be published here in due course. This is more than a case of monkey see monkey do, perhaps Slysoft could use SOPA to remedy the issue LOL.
I see Sanity Overboard is at it again, cannot help himself. I guess once a troll always a troll.Seems to have deliberately omitted the cost of the relevant burning app from those pretenders at DVDFab.Anyway, speaking of DVDFab, no doubt they will reverse engineer the latest release from Slysoft, and release their pretend update in due course.
VALUE: It used to be $39 USD. Now it is over $150 USD Since there are free applications that can rip DVD and Blu-ray, that seems incredibly expensive.LICENSING: Updates not Upgrades - Meaning that if you buy a lifetime subscription for the 6.x series, your lifetime subscription would not include the 7.x or 8.x or 9.x series. Re-purchasing a lifetime subscription? That should not have to be the case. Any users who purchased a Lifetime License should have received all releases without additional cost.COMPATIBILITY: It does not work properly with Packet Writing products such as the very latest versions of Nero InCD and DirectCD. It does not work properly with some third party copy enhancement applications such as copyhandler, totalcopy, fastcopy, terracopy, kill copy, super copier. It has issues with other resident applications that keep an eye on disk activities, be it optical or magnetic. It has displayed issues with drive-specific hardware implementations / features such as Mt Rainier (native hardware packet writing support), LightScribe, LabelFlash and Buffer Underrun implementations such as BurnProof, SafeBurn, JustLink, Seamless Link, PowerBurn & JustSpeed.BUGS: It does not provide a clean rip in all cases, while the competition can and does. Updates are hit and miss. There are a ton of versions being issued, but not all of them are related to new protections. Bad code is often introduced as fast as older code may be tweaked or repaired. If the application had a more stringent quality assurance process in place, it would not be necessary to issue fixes at such a fevered pace. These issues exist independent of any false accusations of bias or grudges. They are documented, tangible and factual. They do not merit personal attacks.
It is simply not necessary to make accusations and inferences here. All we need do is to focus on writing reviews for applications we test. By doing that and that alone, we can help to make the information at BetaNews useful to just about everyone. BetaNews is a GREAT resource for potential users of software and by focusing on the actual software and not the individuals making reviews, the visitors to this site will be much better served. Please take that into consideration when making posts. All that said, I'll focus on AnyDVD and the testing I've done on this latest release.REVIEW TEXT:In this version, the "clean rip" issue is still there. DVD Movie Factory 5 and 6 both show that there are extra tags and information that should not be there if the rip was done properly. It's the same information that you can see in DVD Shrink when you open a VIDEO_TS folder that was ripped with AnyDVD. There should not be any extraneous information to be found if AnyDVD executed the rip properly. For a very short period, they actually corrected the problem, and I rated the program a 2 instead of a 1 specifically for that fix. It was great to be able to use AnyDVD to create a clean, efficient rip of DVD's that I own. It was a key feature in making the product more useful, and it deserved to have a full point added to the rating because of that. But just as fast as it was corrected, it reverted back to its previous behavior and rips made with this version again showed the problem. For whatever reason, that code was changed or removed and now users will have to deal with the hassle of trying to clear out that information when they try to read the ripped files into the apps they use to process that content. This version continues to have trouble with InCD, as I have noted earlier. I've also begun testing third party copy routines in Windows XP and some of those applications seem to have issues when AnyDVD is loaded. However, I'm not certain where the problem lies, so I'm going to wait for a response from Slysoft before factoring that in to the rating. It's a problem I have only just reported to them and they need time to work on the issue. The cost of this application is simply staggering when compared to FREE alternatives already available. The value rating simply HAS to be low because of that fact. The "Update not Upgrade" stance in their modified licensing language is still another huge blow to their potential rating for value. You must now purchase a subscription instead of a one-time purchase. You can buy a 1, 2, 3 or 4 year subscription and even a Lifetime subscription. But the problem is that the text limits users to UPDATES. You do NOT get the right to UPGRADES when you purchase the subscription. So you end up paying right around $154 US Dollars for updates to that specific version of the software.I simply do not see how anyone can provide credible cost-comparisons that justify the purchase of AnyDVD over other for-cost and free applications that can also rip consumer-owned disks. So, when I factor in Cost, Value, Licensing, Features and Compatibility, there is just no way that I can justify a higher score. If there were no free or lower cost alternatives to compare the product to, then the score might be higher. If there were not as many compatibility problems as there seem to be, then the score might be higher. If the licensing "Upgrade / Update" issue did not exist, the score might be higher in terms of value. If it had features for post-rip processing like some of the competition has, then the score might be higher in terms of value. But the facts are that AnyDVD does not measure up in those areas and as a result, does not deserve to be rated any higher. Hence, the rating that I assign to the current version is justifiably low. 2ff7e9595c
